If you are a fan of Nutella like 95% of the population, then these cupcakes are for YOU. If not, then look away!
I’m not going to go into much blabla because who wants that when you are baking Nutella cupcakes. Enjoy!
Cupcake Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 Cups – Sugar
- 1 3/4 Cups – Flour
- 5/8 Cup – Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)
- 1 1/2 Tsp – Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 Tsp – Baking Soda
- 3/4 Tsp – Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup – Milk
- 1/2 Cup – Vegetable Oil
- 1 Tsp – Vanilla Extract
- 1 Cup – Boiling Water
Nutella Buttercream Frosting Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup – Unsalted Butter
- 4 Cups – Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 Cup – Milk
- 1/2 Cup – Nutella
Preparations:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- Line cupcake tins.
- In a large bowl, mix the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla into the same bowl and mix until well incorporated.
- Stir in the boiling water last.
- NOTE: The batter will be very thin. Fill each liner about 3/4 full.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Set aside to cool while you prepare the Nutella Buttercream Frosting.
- In a mixing bowl, whip up the butter.
- Once the butter has a lighter color and a smooth-whipped consistency, add in the icing sugar.
- Add in the milk and notice the mixture come back together. Keep mixing on high speed.
- Add in the Nutella and whip until combined.
- Place the frosting in a piping bag and pipe onto the cupcakes or simply spread it on your cupcakes with a knife – it all tastes the same in the end!
