I first tried this salad in the south of France where my grandparents live. I fell in love. It is absolutely delicious and so easy to make!
Ingredients for salad:
-Rice (It is best to cook it the day before so that it is cold)
-Lettuce (any kind you like—I used a mix of romaine and baby spinach)
-Tomatoes (it doesn’t matter what kind just chose the best you like—I used cherry tomatoes)
-Pickles (now I use tiny pickles that are pickled with mustard grains, none of that sweet dill pickle stuff)
-Canned Tuna
-Hard boiled egg
-Black olives (I don’t always put them)
Ingredients for sauce:
-Dijon mustard
-Vinegar (I use red wine)
-Olive oil
-Salt
-Pepper
The proportions of the salad and the dressing depends on the amount of people and how you like them. Don’t be afraid to taste your dressing and adjust as you go! I always thought that people who cook the best are people who taste their food!!
